Accessibility at the Fair
We at the Topsfield Fair pride ourselves in making the Fairgrounds and its venues accessible to all of our guests. Most of the Fairgrounds is paved to accommodate our guests in wheelchairs and on scooters. Every Fair parking lot has accessible parking. On busy days, all spaces in our lots are occupied early. We have manual wheelchairs available to rent for $20 on a first come first served basis at the gate next to Parking Lot A. Guests in wheelchairs receive complimentary admission; an escort pays for general admission.
Accessible Parking (Handicapped Parking)
Every Fairgounds parking lot has accessible parking. The largest number of spaces is in Lot A, the entrance to which is on Route 1, that abuts the River Gate. All accessible parking is located near an entrance gate. On busy days, all spaces in our lots are occupied early.
We at the Topsfield Fair pride ourselves in making the Fairgrounds a comfortable place for all of our guests. Most of the Fairgrounds is paved to accommodate our guests in wheelchairs and on scooters. Conveniently located near the Picnic Area, a private Nursing Mother’s Lounge and an Adult Changing Room are nestled among the pines, in the same area as our Kid’s Safe Zone for lost children and to provide a calming space to move away from the crowds, which is staffed until 8 PM every night. Hand wash/hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the Fairgrounds.
Canines Performing at the Fair (Dog Performers, K-9s)
The State Police K-9, the Essex County Sheriff's K-9 Department, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security hold canine demonstrations throughout the week. Check the Daily Program to see when these popular shows are held.

Demolition Derby/Figure 8 Racing (Auto Racing)
On the final day, Columbus Day, two of the Fair's most popular events are held in the Arena and are free with admission. The Figure 8 Racing is held at 3:30 PM and the Demolition Derby is held at 7:00 PM.

Discounted Admission Tickets (Deals, Discounts, Coupons)
Our $10 Pre-Fair admission tickets are the best deal in town! You realize substantial savings but enjoy all of the perks of the tickets you purchase at the gate during the Fair. For example, all of the grandstand concerts, small stage shows, etc., are included with general admission! The Pre-Fair tickets are valid any day that the Fair is open. They can be purchased online, at our ticket booth and at many local retailers.
Discounted Ride Tickets (Deals, Discounts, Coupons)
Beginning in August, strips of 10 (one ride per ticket) discounted ride tickets can be purchased for $24 at the Fair Ticket Booth, online and at a limited number of local retailers until the day before the Fair opens. In the Midway, each ride will have a sign with the number of tickets required but those figures apply only to tickets that are purchased at the ticket booths in the Midway that day. It is important to keep the ride tickets attached to the strip; unattached tickets will not be accepted by the ride operators.
Dogs at the Fair
We love dogs but the only ones we can allow on the Fairgrounds during fair time are service dogs and those participating in events, e.g., police K-9 demonstrations, Dock Dogs events, etc.
Free Concerts (Entertainment, Stage)
All entertainment held at the Grandstand and small stages are free with Fair admission!
Giant Pumpkins (Pumpkins)
The Pumpkin Weigh-Off takes place on Opening Day in the Arena from 4-10 PM (competitors begin arriving at 1 PM). All of the top entries will be on display throughout the entire run of the Fair. The prize winner will be in the Vegetable Building while the runners-up will remain along the periphery of the Arena. Seeds from giant pumpkins are for sale in the Vegetable Building.
Gluten-free Vendors (Allergies)
Many of our vendors provide some gluten-free food options but none is specifically designated as gluten-free.
Groups with Special Needs/Disabilities
Groups with special needs and/or disabilities are welcome as guests at the Fair and should send an email to email@example.com with a request on the organization's letterhead paper specifying the date the group would like to visit (Monday-Friday) as well as the number of people in the group. The Topsfield Fairgrounds is accessible with designated accessible parking areas in each Fairgrounds parking lot.
Midway Specials (Bracelets, Discounted Ride Tickets)
On certain evenings, a Midway Special may be offered. Bracelets that will get you unlimited rides on most MIDWAY rides must be purchased at Midway Ticket Booths on the first Friday and Monday through Wednesday.
Tuesday is Military Day at the Fair. All active military personnel will be admitted to the Fair free of charge, along with their immediate family members accompanying them when they present their military identification at the gate. Special events will be held to honor our servicemen and women.
Monster Truck Free Style/Demolition Derby & Pit Party Show Admission
The Monster Truck Show is a separately ticketed event and GUESTS OF ALL AGES REQUIRE TICKETS. Since the show is held inside the Arena within the Fairgrounds, A GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET IS ALSO REQUIRED OF ALL GUESTS AGES 8 AND UP. Pit Parties, requiring a separate ticket, are offered to those wanting an up close and personal experience with the Monster Trucks and their drivers for a small additional fee. Guests are advised to bring ear protection as the noise level is high for the Monster Truck shows.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Mounties)
The Topsfield Fair is proud to have the popular Royal Canadian Mounted Police present their Musical Ride in our Arena over several days every other year. Check our Daily Program during even-numbered years.
Parades (Grand Parade)
The Grand Parade will step off on Main Street in Topsfield rain or shine at 9 AM on the first Saturday that the Fair runs. Whimsical parades are held at 5 PM inside the Fairgrounds on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Parking at the Fairgrounds (Off-site Parking, Satellite Parking, Shuttle Busses)
Several large parking lots surround the Topsfield Fair. On busy weekend days, you are advised to take advantage of our satellite parking lot located at North Shore Community College Danvers Campus, which operates 10 AM to close. Guests are shuttled directly to the Main Gate on buses using restricted backroads to ensure quick passage.

There is additional parking at Fair-View Farm on Route 1 North with shuttle bus service to the fairgrounds. Parking will be available on the weekends and Columbus Day holiday.
Parking on Opening Day (Deals, Discounts, Coupons)
Parking is free in all Fair Parking Lots on Opening Day, which is the FIRST FRIDAY.
Performers at the Fair (Entertainment)
If you would like to perform at the Fair, please apply starting in January using the following link: Entertainment Application Generally, the Entertainment Committee starts making decisions in late-winter and notifies the contacts from the groups that are selected to perform.

Re-entry to the Fair
Guests may re-enter the Fair on a single day. They should have their hand stamped prior to leaving the gate and be prepared to go through the security checkpoint again.
Rest Rooms (Bathrooms, Lavatories)
The Topsfield Fair provides rest rooms throughout the Fairgrounds that are continuously attended. Nestled throughout the Fairgrounds are portable rest rooms. We make providing clean facilities a priority to ensure that our guests' needs are met.
For representatives who wish to solicit signatures on petitions for the purpose of a ballot proposition/referendum to voters, or nomination of a candidate for public office, in a city, county, or statewide election, please read the following documentation.
We have a limited number of strollers and wagons for rent at Gate A, which are rented on a first-come first-served basis so we recommend arriving early. Guests are welcome to bring their own to use on the mostly paved Fairgrounds.

Wheelchair Rentals (Accessibility, Accommodations)
We have a limited number of manual wheelchairs for rent at Gate A, located near the parking lot with the largest number of accessible parking spaces. The cost is $20. Since patrons in wheelchairs receive complimentary admission to the Fairgrounds, we recommend that an escort rent the wheelchair prior to the guest's entering. The wheelchairs are rented on a first-come first-served basis so we recommend arriving early.
